Established in 2012 by Sam Johnson and Richie Emmerson. I took over the running of the company in 2014. Having begun my own alfresco adventures at the age of 5 (or should that be dragged along by my parents) I set off with a rucksack on my back in 2007 for a worldwide adventure which lasted 3 years. The adventure made me understand how much I wanted to encourage more people to get “alfresco”. There is a saying “there’s no place like home” and the many activities I have experienced can be done on my doorstep in beautiful and stunning locations in North Yorkshire and the Lake District, comparable with anywhere in the world. So here at Alfresco Adventures we provide you with the opportunity, the locations and the expertise to deliver many outdoor activities and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

The outdoors offers so much in terms of education. From flora and fauna, to weather patterns, there is so much to learn. We teach all our clients to respect the outdoors and emphasise the importance of common sense in all our activities. With our wide ranging expertise, we can help you discover your inner Ray Mears!

Through our Facebook site and our other social media platforms, we can advise on social events including guest speakers on a range of topics and adventure film nights. Both are very popular with the outdoor community and are great ways to meet people with similar interests.
