One Hour Archery Experience Ullswater

Ever fancied yourself as a bit of a Robin Hood or Maid Marion? With our one-hour archery experience you can test your aim by propelling an arrow from a bow towards a target.

This experience is available for local residents in and around Penrith and Carlisle, guests of Park Foot Holiday Park and anyone else visiting the lovely Lake District National Park.

Archery is an enjoyable, addictive and a fun activity suitable for ages of 6 upwards.

In the session we will aim to cover:
• The basic techniques of barebow archery
• An aiming technique called ‘aiming off’
• Scoring; everyone will get an individual score, with three ends (9 arrows)
• Games which are competitive for individuals and groups

Each one hour slot is limited to six people. We strongly advise booking in advance as it is very popular with adults and children.

Our instructors have a wealth of experience and are all Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) or Archery Leader UK qualified.

What is barebow archery?
Barebow archery is an aiming method which still used widely around the world and dates back to when man first hunted with a bow and arrow. It relies on human skill with no mechanical or fixed sight to help you aim, some say it is the purest form of the sport.
