Tandem Kayak Hire Ullswater

Regrettably, in 2024, we will not be offering water sports hire on Ullswater, as we have lost our base at Park Foot. However, we are actively searching for a new base still on Ullswater, and we will keep you updated on our progress. In the meantime, we are available for private instructor-led sessions for all water sports activities. Please note that for private bookings, we require a minimum of four people. With our kayak hire you can create your own fun and adventure on Ullswater. We offer a fixed price for one hour, per kayak. If you want to kayak for longer; just book consecutive slots if available.
Kayaking is a great leisurely outdoor activity for families, couples and friends. Our kayaks are comfortable to sit on and paddle making them ideal for novices.
Minimum age 4 years old when accompanied by an adult. The tandem kayak is suitable for one adult and two children under the age 0f 10, one adult and one child above the age of 10, two children above 12 or two adults.
We provide:
• Safety briefing on conditions and where to kayak
• Sit on top tandem kayak
• Paddle
• Buoyancy aid
Please arrive 20 minutes before your hire time, ready to go….
You need:
• To fill in our personal information form
• Something to go on your feet- water shoes, old trainers, sliders etc
• Bring a Towel
• Change of clothes
• To always have an adult in eyesight of you if under 18.
• Agree to our terms and conditions
• You must be able to swim 25m with a buoyancy aid.

There are changing facilities onsite with toilets and showers.
Walking from Pooley Bridge – you want to have the lake on your right hand side, follow the footpath along the lakeside and you will come right to us. The walk is roughly 20 minutes and under 1 mile.
We offer kayak hire on Ullswater seven days a week, between April and October. It is on a first come first serve basis and it is advisable to book in advance. Bookings can be made on the day you can either book online and show your booking confirmation or come down and book.
We have six tandem kayaks available for hire.
